About this Course

This MSc in Computing is aimed to equip you with the necessary knowledge through individual study and research in the following areas: cyber security, IT project management, information system design, development & management and game design & development. The assignments and research will further enhance your perception and competence in your designated area of study.

This programme will provide you the necessary skills to transform yourself into a lifelong learner and figure out your personal goals and amenities for education. It also aims to broaden your perception and response to chances for innovation.

The Research Methods in Computing module will root your research skills while enhancing your high-level communication, numeracy, literacy and problem-solving skills.

Units

The Research Methods module is designed to equip students in the practical and theoretical expertise to read, comprehend, and tackle academic research in the IT-related specialties. Outlining and developing a comprehensive proposal suitable for a postgraduate dissertation is inclusive of this module. Students are exposed to both qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection as well as the practical and analytical aspects. Methodologies and principles for research including or excluding human participation are outlined and examined.

The Dissertation module aims to make the students utilise their entire scope of knowledge and skills gained throughout this programme. It is the largest independent piece of appraised work done by the student. This module allows students to focus on a single project area and manage a demanding and in-depth investigation while employing course-related cognitive and practical prowess. Their conclusions will then have to be presented in a orthodox manner within academic guidelines.
